There is a very interesting story how www.easytolet.in was born.

We few friends like you came together and were discussing to do something of our own. We consciously choose 3 aspects to consider in whatever we finalize to do.

1. Address at least one of the damn needs of an Indian. And which will touch the life of each Indian somehow.
2. Make a real difference to the country/society in whatever we do
3. Build a successful and sustainable enterprise

Many ideas were put to basket. It was rather interesting how every discussion we had about making www.easytolet.in was addressing all the 3 things we wanted to consider. Read on...

We started with our own real lifetime situations and were also questioning friends and colleagues - what was one need which was addressed with great pain today. Many responses were related to personal needs and some needs weren't much relevant to majority of us. One need interestingly overlapped with the experiences of our colleagues/friends and our very own experience. The experience was related to setting up our office to work. We started with searching for an office space for rent. We gathered details from newspaper classifieds, online classifieds, talked to many agents and owners. The information we gathered was either outdated or we had to travel ourselves to check the property details. Guess what! it took nearly a month to find a place of our choice. And we have completed only one of the many things we had to do. Again we started to travel to find good Packers & Movers and for a good quote to move in the furniture. And then for telephone connection, internet connection etc. We had to approach each service provider providing above services separately. There wasn't one single place where all these could have been addressed. It took us another month to settle down.

We heard similar experiences from our colleagues and friends moving from Bangalore to Hyderabad. They had even more things to do especially when they had to find good schools for their kids and also to understand the demographics of the new place.

We were excited to have found that “One of the damn needs of an Indian” which was addressed with great pain. We were sure this would address the need of every Indian either as a owner or as a tenant or as a service provider serving the move related needs.

Now we were thinking how we would "Make a real difference to the society" with www.easytolet.in We recollected how much we traveled for setting up an office, almost 20-30 kms a day. Approximately we were consuming 1-2 liters of Petrol a day depending on whether we used a car or bike. We traveled at least 20 working days just to find a place of our choice and then another 20 working days to figure out the service providers for setting up the office. In total approximately we consumed 30-50 liters of petrol and than the pollution we added is considerable. See the table. Leave aside our own time, energy and money.

We did some realistic statistical analysis to understand how much we can reduce the pollution while saving the scarce resource petrol. We began to count the number of rental classified ads in a week from all the newspapers, magazines and websites. There were almost 1000-1500 rental ads per week per city. The ads were so brief that we know one has to do similar exercise what we had done, before he/she settles down in a new place. Approximately 5-15 tenants visited the property per each rental ad.

It was heartening to imagine what www.easytolet.in can do to this country as a whole. However we know this benefit is inherent with others though they might not have thought about it. But it was a conscious effort we have put in while choosing www.easytolet.in itself.

We continued thinking, what more we would do. One particular experience during our stay in London was very interesting, when people were moving from one place to other they were dumping many unused items (e.g., Old Clothes, Dolls, Furniture etc.,) at a pre-defined place. These items were later collected by Government Agencies there and distributed them among the poor. We started thinking how useful would it be if we could make an effort through www.easytolet.in to collect all the unused items and pass it on to the poor. We were sure everybody will be "Happy to Help" while taking care of their own needs. We were convinced this is the idea we wanted.

Finally we evaluated www.easytolet.in feasibility in terms of its sustainability in the long run. We did some research on the current market players related to this area of work. And we found no player offering exclusive rental and relocation service with the depth of the details we wanted to have or see. There wasn't even one player offering an integrated solution for all the moving needs. The only service available was to search for a new place. The rental search feature was again just an add-on feature or a simple 5-10 lines brief ad.

We were convinced we can build a sustainable business if we can provide an integrated solution to address all the moving needs - right from searching a new rental property until he/she settles down in a new place. We were glad to discover the idea we wanted. We invested one complete year on a dedicated team working to prepare the platform.
